Sunday Drama College starts the new term this coming Sunday. We had such a brilliant performance at the end of last term with THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT devised by the group and facilitated by Nigel Fairs. Original concept and music by Adam Rood. I can't claim any credit for a terrific and innovative and also somewhat scary afternoon!!! I hope the cast all feel justly proud. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone this coming Sunday 8th 2012 (I'd only just got used to writing 2011!!).
Our spring term performance is going to support the MacMillan Nurses. Recently a book of poetry called SOUL FEATHERS has been published with an aim to raising money for this brilliant charity. The students will perform some of these poems on March 25th with half the box office going to the nurses' fund. It has become an SDC tradition that once a year a charity is supported.
We still have 10 places available, so if you are between 13 and 19 and would like to join we offer a 'taster' session for £10... the first one being at 2.00pm to 5.00pm this coming Sunday 8th January at King Charles the Martyr Parish Hall (not the church, but the hall). If you are thinking about joining the January term is the best time to come, as the workshops are all geared to team building, everyone gets an individual chance to shine and it means you are all bonded, ready for the outdoor Shakespeare in the summer which is going to be COMEDY OF ERRORS this year, also very exciting. This current group of students have a terrific work ethic and a lot of talent.
You can Register online or if you want further details simply email me directly by clicking here …and I shall reply within 24 hours.
It's going to be a good year. x x
Happy New Year everyone, love
“I've loved being a part of SDC and I'm highly recommending it to drama students at my school. I've developed so many aspects of my character at SDC and I've made so many friends, a few of which I'm sure will be life long.
The standards of all the tutors have been so impressive and I'm so grateful of your massive commitment into the group as well as Adam's and Nigel's especially.
I've loved every aspect of SDC: the workshops, singing, dancing, performing, socialising...never a dull moment. I've been proud to be a part of every single performance and humbled to be acting alongside such talented people.”
